Few places epitomize community quite like Nantucket. When someone gets knocked down, the island swoops in like a net to catch them and lift them right back up. Amid the coronavirus, a number of life-changing initiatives snapped into action to help Nantucketers in need. Here are some of the best places to give your support.

ACK SAVES

A group of community members, stakeholders, year-round and seasonal residents have created a new community-funded initiative called ACK SAVES whose mission is to address the immediate financial needs of individual islanders and their island families who have been left adrift in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

KEEP THE ROCK SOLID

The Nantucket Chamber of Commerce teamed up with ReMain Nantucket to create Keep the Rock Solid, a digital platform designed to connect local business owners with resources and support systems as they reopen in the wake of the coronavirus. The Chamber has also launched a radio program called the Road to Recovery.

NANTUCKET FUND FOR

EMERGENCY RELIEF

The Community Foundation has established the Nantucket Fund for Emergency Relief. This COVID-19 response fund is awarding grants on a rolling basis to Nantucket nonprofits addressing the most important community needs during the health crisis.

Grants focus on providing operational assistance to our Island’s nonprofit human service providers.
